Every year, hundreds of thousands of young men and women in West Africa are leaving rural communities to seek a better life in urban centers. Many say goodbye to their families and head to crowded urban areas where both unemployment and crime is high and there are few job opportunities. To encourage youth in the Volta region of Ghana to stay in the region and support themselves and their families, the Anglican Diocese of Ho is providing an agriculturally based project where youth receive skills training in food crop production, animal husbandry and finances.
